The Yara Prize 2008 Nomination Process now on
Nominations are invited by the Board of the Yara Foundation, responsible for the Yara Prize for an African Green Revolution. The prize was established in 2005, to honor outstanding contributions towards the revolution called for by Kofi Annan, and in support of the UN´s Millennium Development Goals. The Yara Foundation invites nominations for the Yara Prize 2008, with March 31, 2008 as the closing date for submissions. The Yara Prize is awarded after a stringent selection process. The Prize Committee invites individuals or institutions to make nominations, before screening and selecting candidates. Nominations shall be made in writing. Personal applications will not be considered. The criteria for the nomination and selection process are laid down in the Statutes of the prize. The Board of the Yara Foundation serves as the Prize Committee. Closing date for nominations for the 2008 prize, is March 31, 2008. Thereafter, the Prize Committee begins its selection process. The name of the 2008 Yara Prize laureate is expected to be announced in June, and the award ceremony will take place in conjunction with the African Green Revolution Conference in late August.
