2007

The second AGRC was convened in Oslo in August 2007, on the theme of Partnership for Productivity. Some 240 participants from 40 countries attended and the Oslo Declaration was adopted.

The main issues raised at the conference include progress on frameworks, rethinking resources, organizing inputs, emerging markets, financial innovation, biofuels partnerships and climate change.

At the end of the conference, a Ministerial and High Level Roundtable, involving Ministers of Finance and Agriculture from 12 African countries, adopted the Oslo Declaration  and Agenda for Action.  Dr Norman Borlaug, special guest at the conference, was interviewed on stage by Prof. Jeffrey Sachs.

Incorporated with the conference, the Yara Prize 2007  was awarded to Akin Adesina of Nigeria and Josephine Okot of Kenya.
